The state administration of Kaduna State, according to Governor Uba Sani, has reached agreements with security services, particularly Operation Safe Haven, to return displaced communities from Southern Kaduna to their ancestral homes.
He told reporters shortly after the state security council meeting on Wednesday in Kaduna, “Where necessary, the government will help the displaced people rebuild their destroyed communities.”
The governor declared that his government is prepared to provide all logistics required to relocate the displaced communities to their ancestral homes. The governor was flanked by Major General AbdulSalam Abubakar, the General Officer Commanding of the 3 Division and Major General Valentine Okoro, the General Officer Commanding of the 1 Division of the Nigerian Army.

Governor Sani reaffirmed that combating insecurity is the top priority of his administration and emphasised that the government may not be able to accomplish all of its development goals if security issues are not resolved.
He emphasised that the government has made significant investments in development and that solving the issue of insecurity is essential, stating that it is their duty as a government to guarantee that people live in a secure environment.
“We have accomplished a lot, and we won’t give up; we’ll keep fighting the bandits, insurgents, and criminals within the Birnin Gwari and Southern Kaduna axis,” he continued.
The governor clarified that they are making progress based on the security chiefs’ findings, and that they will get ongoing technological and logistical help.
He stated that the government should not hesitate to act to ensure the security and safety of its citizens, as it is a fundamental human right, and that they are collaborating with Operation Safe Haven, which is being led by General Abubakar, the GOC of the 3rd Division, to resettle displaced communities in Southern Kaduna.
He states that it is their duty to ensure that all those who were uprooted due to instability are safely returned to their homes, and that the government will take care of that as part of its duty. He also notes that in cases where these people require assistance in reconstructing their community, the government will take care of that as part of its duty.
Major General AbdulSalam Abubakar, the GOC 3 Division and Commander of Operation Safe Haven, stated in his speech that 15 localities will be included in the resettlement’s initial phase.
We examined the security situation in Kaduna State during the meeting, he said, adding that he was in charge of Southern Kaduna. We have therefore provided His Excellency with certain projections, as she uses the ability of those who have been able to escape crisis and return to their ancestral homes to restart socioeconomic activities as a benchmark for Operation Safe Haven’s accomplishments.
He went on to say that they intend to relocate roughly fifteen villages to their ancestral houses, emphasising that in order for them to do so and resume their regular lives, they will require certain logistical support from the government.
Maj. General Valentine Okoro, the head of GOC 1 Division, stated that the government and security agencies were coordinating with all state security partners to coordinate efforts and create a network security architecture that would effectively address any vulnerabilities found during their deliberations.
He said that going forward, increased security and stronger cooperation between all security players are anticipated, which will, in our opinion, improve peace and security for the people of Kaduna State.
He clarified that the greatest concern in the operational environment is banditry, and efforts are being made to guarantee that it is minimised to the lowest possible level.
