He highlighted the inadequacy of vigilantes in dealing with bandits who possess advanced weaponry, citing recent incidents such as the abduction of over 280 students in the Kuriga region and the kidnapping of 87 individuals in the Kajuru Local Government Area.
During an interview on Politics Today, Governor Sani stressed the importance of empowering state police with the legal authority to carry firearms, including AK-47s, in order to enhance community defense capabilities.
He pointed out that vigilante services are limited to working alongside the military, police, and other security agencies for support and intelligence gathering.**
