Gov. Radda promotes among Nigerians true brotherhood and patriotism, according to Maulud
Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has urged Nigerians of all religious persuasions to practise true brotherhood and compassion for all people in their daily lives.
In a pluralistic culture like ours, doing so “will greatly assist in engendering national peace, unity, and integration,” Radda said.
While congratulating Muslims in the state, the nation, and the world on the occasion of Eid-ul-Maulud in 2023, he made the appeal.
He argued that Muslims can celebrate Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) in a gracious and committed way during the Maulud religious celebration by remembering him and encouraging one another to imitate his admirable character and faultless social virtues of honesty, fairness, compassion, and regard for others.
“Our pious and revered Prophet Muhammad was an iconic and legendary Messenger of God,” he said. “Among other endearing moral values, he led a life of unmistakable piety, pure humility, astounding level of sincerity, genuine love for humanity, high sense of gratitude, sheer perseverance, true generosity, and stellar modesty.”
He explained that Muslims in the nation should recommit themselves to righteousness and other high spiritual activities that only serve to project the Islamic religion and their own personal characteristics in the most spectacular manner as they observed the anniversary of the birth of the Holy Prophet of Allah.
“More significantly, I gave the Muslims of Katsina and the entire nation the duty to love their fellow believers, including those who hold alternative spiritual philosophies. On the one hand, as Nigerians, we must all work to uphold moral virtue. The time has come, he added, for us to work patriotically to make Nigeria a prosperous country.
