Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State succeeded Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State as the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum on Saturday.
Mohammed’s ascension was announced by the governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, shortly after the governors’ closed-door meeting held at the Government House in Bauchi on the sidelines of the one-day retreat organized by the main opposition party for its members elected in the most recent general election.
Fintiri added that Siminalayi Fubara, governor of Rivers State, was elected vice chairman of the forum.
According to him, Mohammed’s appointment as the forum’s chairman was based on his competence and ability to guide it to greater heights.
In response to his election as chairman of the forum, Mohammed pledged to develop the party alongside his comrades.
He stated that his election was an honor for himself and the entire population of Bauchi State.
Mohammed, however, urged his coworkers to assist him with the upcoming duties.
