Public employees are not permitted to exploit government resources for personal benefit, according to Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni.

Just moments earlier, the governor had presided over the oath of office ceremonies for nine newly appointed permanent secretaries.

He proclaimed, “The conversion of government facilities and vehicles to personal use and services at the expense of government work is hereby prohibited.”

Buni commanded that all government vehicles only be utilised for official purposes.

He gave the order, “The Head of Service, the Permanent Secretaries, and the Secretary to the State Government are hereby directed to ensure compliance.”

Additionally, he issued a warning that the government would not tolerate the waste of resources or their diversion in an effort to thwart efforts to offer services to the populace.

He promised, “As we begin our second and last term of office, we will make sure that government resources are wisely and effectively used to enhance the welfare of our people.
