Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo State, has called the rumours that he will go back to Germany for additional treatment due to his ailing health “wicked and misleading.”

Online reports claimed that the governor intended to travel back to Germany for additional medical care.

Through his principal press secretary, Richard Olatunde, Governor Akeredolu responded to the news by saying that “such report is concocted and planted by drowning politicians who are still nursing the pain of defeated expectations.”

The rumoured allegation, according to Akeredolu, “is baseless, unfounded, and only a figment of the imagination of evil-minded politicians.”

“While the good citizens of the state are pleased that the governor has returned safely from his medical vacation, these embattled politicians have been spending their nights gnashing their teeth in regret over their abandoned evil schemes,” he stated.

“For us, we are dedicated to responding to the sincere worries of the state’s citizens. Development is given priority under the Akeredolu administration for this reason.

“Government is not a form of show business where the governor participates in fashion shows in the market square to declare his presence in the state. We are aware of how crucial development is to the creation of a stable, prosperous, and egalitarian society.

“The government of Governor Akeredolu has continuously shown its commitment to the development of the state. He recently gave his approval for the hiring of medical specialists and healthcare workers as a sign of our dedication to improving the state’s healthcare system.

The 2023 Appropriation bill for the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC) was also signed into law by the governor after being approved by the state House of Assembly. This is an important step in the growth of the oil-producing region.

Furthermore, we are happy to report that the development of a 250-bed University of Medical Science Teaching Hospital in Akure and Ondo Town is moving quite quickly. We are also working on building the Akure flyover at the Onyarubulem/Shagari Junction, and we are moving along steadily.

“Governor Akeredolu has approved the hiring of 150 new employees for the state Internal Revenue Service in order to increase revenue generating. Along with a Revenue court in Akure, contemporary tax offices are also being built in Ondo and Ikare. These initiatives are already underway.

“Because we care about the welfare of our employees, Governor Akeredolu recently authorised the payment of unpaid leave bonuses. Employee salaries in the state have been paid on time.

Contrary to what the opposition has claimed, Governor Akeredolu is dutifully carrying out his responsibilities. The governor is actively involved in handling state-related issues as numerous Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) continue their operations.

However, Akeredolu pleaded with the populace to ignore “the fake news and not be persuaded by the deceptive and misleading information spread by people with ulterior objectives.

“Governor Akeredolu is still committed to serving Ondo State’s residents and advancing his great state,”
