Gov Aiyedatiwa appoints 344 aides just 10 weeks before the Ondo gubernatorial election, a move seen as strategic for the upcoming polls.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has appointed a total of 344 political aides in Ondo State, with just approximately 10 weeks left until the November 16 governorship election.

There are 28 senior special assistants and 316 special assistants in total among the aides.

The spread of appointments, which were made by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary Ebenezer Adeniyan, encompassed all 18 local government areas as well as 33 local council development areas (LCDAs), and a total of 203 political wards located within the state.

Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has authorized the appointment of fresh Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs) as part of his ongoing efforts to improve governance and service delivery for citizens in the state.

The governor’s appointments have been criticized by Olujimi Adekanle, a Public Affairs Analyst in the state for being unnecessary and misguided.

I strongly suspect that Mr. Governor received inaccurate information; capable individuals were given less important positions, while those who deserved lower roles obtained higher-ranking ones. Some highly qualified personalities could have become senior special assistants but ended up being just special assistants.”

I genuinely cannot comprehend the criteria used for these appointments. It seems that certain individuals deserve esteem due to their past political contributions and positions held.

It wouldn’t be unexpected to observe numerous recently appointed individuals rejecting their appointments (due to potential hunger for some).
