The administration of the state polytechnic in Iree has been ordered by the Osun State Government to reverse the amount that students must pay.
For the 2022–23 academic year, the school administration raised the fees for scientific students from N67,850 to N112,850 and for everyone else from 57,300 to N97,300.
Adelani Aderinola, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, sent a note to the school on December 15 telling them to stop using the new pricing system.
“Further to your letter Reference Number OSPOL/BUR/101/VII/239 dated December 13, 2022 on Notification of Approved Fees for 2022/2023 Academic Session, the management of the institution should suspend the implementation of the new school fees regime due to the recent change in leadership of the state,” the memo titled, “Re: Notification of Approved Fees for 2022/2023 Academic Session in Osun State Polytechnic, Ireland,” states.
