Gov. Abdulrazaq: “PEPT judgement reflects the wishes of the majority of voters
In affirming President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s victory, the Presidential victory Petition Tribunal (PEPT) ruled unanimously, reflecting the will of the vast majority of eligible voters, according to Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Governor Abdulrazaq, who is currently on an official visit to India with the president, congratulated Tinubu and said in a statement released by his chief spokesman Rafiu Ajakaye in Ilorin on Thursday that “the judgement attests to the credibility of the ballot and the fact that the outcome reflects the wishes of the largest majority of eligible voters.”
The governor praised the PEPT for adhering fully to the constitution and refusing to be coerced by threats or intimidation based on unfounded allegations of electoral fraud.
“In the end, our democracy has been strengthened, and Nigerians’ freedom to choose the leaders they want has been equally upheld, as all concerns were thoroughly investigated and handled in accordance with all applicable laws. The ruling is a victory for truth, according to the governor.
“We have no doubt that the President would be more determined than ever to keep his word to the good people of Nigeria as a result of the PEPT’s judgement.
The statement went on to say, “We commit to continue working with Mr. President and his outstanding staff in the goal of building a better economy, a safer country, and a happier people.
