Gov Abdullahi supports legislation to revitalize mining industry

Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has demanded a more practical and long-lasting law to restructure the mining industry.

Additionally, he emphasised the importance of reiterating that agriculture and solid minerals are Nigeria’s mainstays.

In the state capital of Lafia on Sunday, Governor Sule made the statement while entertaining members of the House of Representatives Committee on Solid Minerals at Government House.

He argues that “a holistic review of the various aspects concerning mineral deposits in the country, with a view to evolving a homegrown solution that will consider the peculiarities of each of the states of the federation” is necessary.

As solid minerals are found in Nasarawa State, the committee’s first point of contact, according to Mr. Gaza Jonathan Gbefwi, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Solid Minerals.
