There were no casualties in the incident, despite the fact that the source of the fire could not be determined right away.

When a fire ravaged a three-story structure housing warehouses with clothing and shoes in the well-known Balogun market on Broad Street on Lagos Island, goods worth millions of naira were lost.

According to reports, the fire broke out on Thursday night around midnight and was put out by emergency personnel, but it returned about three in the morning.

Firefighters had considerable difficulty entering the building due to the iron bars, the South-West Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) told Channels Television. The facility was home to warehouses.

However, he said that the fire had been completely contained and had not spread to any other structures.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said in a statement that the cause of the fire could not be found right away, but that no one was hurt.

Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, the head of LASEMA, stated that the police and the response team, which includes trucks from the Lagos State Fire Service, are currently on the scene and collaborating to put out the fire.
