The multibillion-naira Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park would not allow any economic activity involving tobacco products once it opens, according to proposals issued by the Gombe State Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Tourism.

The ministry commissioner was informed of this decision during an advocacy visit by the Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre, or CISLAC.

Additionally, the Ministry of Justice has promised to create a legislative framework that will regulate the use and consumption of tobacco products within the state.

Both ministries emphasised the benefits that may be obtained through taxation while underlining the significance of these actions for public health.
