Gombe government expands shutdown of nightclubs and illicit establishments to local government areas
Governor Muhammadu Yahaya’s decree has directed the Gombe State Government to expand its campaign against illicit joints and local nightclubs to all of the state’s Local Government Areas (LGAs).
This choice was made in response to the recent removal of structures linked to immoral activity in the city.
At a meeting on Friday with the chairmen of local government and the state task force, Governor Yahaya disclosed this.
The governor, accompanied by Professor Ibrahim Njodi, Secretary to the Government of the State, declared that the demolition of the locations, dubbed “gidan galas” in the community, was in line with his administration’s goals of reducing crime and reorienting values.

“To guarantee that the local councils receive the same comprehensive value reorientation and crime dismantling.” He assigns the bosses of LG.
Yahaya emphasised the necessity of the task force and the council chairmen working together to identify and attack unlawful establishments and gala homes, which are thought to be hubs for social vices.
“It takes a team to fight for a society free from crime and where social values are restored. Yahaya stated, “Therefore, the state and Local Government Councils are working together to improve coordination.”
In addition, the governor called on the heads of security services and local government councils to maintain vigilance and swiftly report any security-related concerns to the relevant authorities so that prompt action can be taken.
