The All Progressives Congress, APC in Gombe State, North-East Nigeria, has suspended two sitting National Assembly members in fulfilment of its pledge to punish disloyal members for anti-party behaviour.
Senator Bulus Amos of Gombe South and Representative Yunusa Abubakar of Yamaltu Deba Federal Constituency are also impacted.
In response to a recommendation from the executives of Senator Bulus Amos’ BamBam Council Ward in the Balanga Local Government Area, who found him guilty of anti-party activities, the party’s State Executive Committee ratified the suspension of Amos, according to a statement by the state’s publicity secretary, Moses Kyari.
Remember that Senator Amos ignored an invitation to explain his acts when the party’s ward executives formed a five-person committee to look into his activities.
The party said that it had embraced the ward executives’ suggestions, including suspension and ultimately expulsion from the party.
