Gombe: Aishatu Abdullahi hacked to death
The suspected murder of Mrs. Aishatu Abdullahi, 58, is being looked into by the police command in Gombe State.
According to the police, the victim was killed on Friday in Gombe by unidentified assailants.
This information was provided in a statement released on Saturday in Gombe by the Command’s spokesman, ASP Mahid Mu’azu.
At around 21:45, he claimed, the attackers broke into the deceased’s home in the Jekadafari neighbourhood of the Gombe metropolis before fleeing with her mobile.
“Our men hurried to the scene where Mrs. Abdullahi was discovered in a pool of blood as soon as we received the information. She was then taken to the Specialist Hospital, Gombe, where she was later pronounced dead.
The Command has expressed shock and dismay at the horrible crime and has vowed to use all of its resources to hold those responsible accountable, he said.
Mu’azu stated that a thorough inquiry has been begun by the Command to determine the circumstances surrounding the crime and locate the murderers.

The commercial motorcycle and tricycle operators were requested to provide the police with reliable information because the limitation on mobility had not been lifted, he said.
In the meantime, the state’s governor, Inuwa Yahaya, has denounced the woman’s slaying.
The governor instructed the Police and other security agencies to find the crime’s perpetrators, according to a statement by Ismaila Misili, Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House, Gombe.
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to protecting the state’s residents’ safety and security.
“I want to be quite clear that anyone involved for this horrible and brutal conduct will not be able to evade justice.
“Our security agencies are directed to leave no stone unturned in order to track down the culprits and hold them accountable for their heinous action,” he said.
Yahaya expressed his condolences to the grieving family and advised the people of the state to maintain composure and vigilance in the face of any security danger.
