Goje avoids rally as ex-Gov. Dankwambo’s deputy leaves PDP for APC

Charles Iliya, the former deputy governor of Gombe State, joined the ruling All Progressives Congress on Saturday.

Iliya, who served as Ibrahim Dankwambo’s deputy governor, has been a crucial pillar for the opposition People’s Democratic Party in Gombe South.

He was introduced when the APC’s reelection campaign got underway.

Kabiru Jauro, a leader of the PDP’s youth wing in the North-East, also left the party. He promised to help Governor Muhammadu Yahaya get re-elected.

Isyaku Gwamna, a former PDP candidate for governor and campaigner for Atiku Abubakar, told thousands of supporters that what he did was right.

Gwamna advised that it was better to believe what you saw rather than what you were told.

Speaking, Yahaya said that after his performance since 2019, the support was sincere. Because of our performance, the governor claimed that the support was sincere.

Danjuma Goje, who used to be governor but is now a senator from Gombe Central, was the only candidate who wasn’t there.

In the last hours of the APC primary election, where Goje chose to run for re-election to the Senate, Goje recently made peace with the governor of Gombe State.
