The top striker Gift Orban’s current form has raised concerns for KAA Gent head coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck.

Orban, the Buffalos’ leading scorer from the previous season, has recently had difficulty in front of goal.

The 21-year-old last scored for Gent against Sint Truiden in August.

The club’s 1-1 match with RWDM last weekend included a dreadful performance from the Nigerian.

Vanhaezebrouck remarked that Orban had completely vanished from the game.

“After all, he’s the top scorer. We had many opportunities before he came on, but none of them materialised. That also signifies something,” Vanhaezebrouck said.

“You also need to be able to generate your opportunities. He was hardly visible to us. That is available to you as a striker. You go through times when every ball drops perfectly, but not right now. Our crosses also fell short.

In seven league games this year for Gent, Orban has two goals.
