According to the party, its leaders in Benue continue to be legitimate party members pending further evaluation by the National Working Committee.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Headquarters has disregarded the alleged suspension of Senator Barnabas Gemade, Professor Terhemba Shija, and five other party members by the party’s Benue State Executive Committee.
Felix Morka, the APC’s national publicity secretary, made this announcement in a statement on Thursday.
The Party has directed that the aforementioned suspension and all connected steps in the matter be put on hold, and this is done hereby, awaiting further investigation and a ruling by the Party’s National Working Committee (NWC) on the subject, according to Morka.
Therefore, Senator Gemade, Professor Shija, and five other people who are impacted by the suspension are and continue to be legitimate members of our party’s Benue State Chapter.
Fr. Hyacinth Alia won the general elections in place of the Gemade and Shija team, who ran for governor but were defeated.
Fr. Alia was pursued in court all the way to the Supreme Court before the case was dismissed.
