Gbajabiamila announces that the 2025 budget will be structured around a thorough needs assessment to ensure effective allocation of resources.
According to Femi Gbajabiamila, the President’s Chief of Staff, State House agencies’ 2025 budget will rely on an evaluation of their requirements.
During a one-day fact-finding tour of various government agencies under the supervision of the State House, Gbajabiamila spoke to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday and made this revelation.
As per his statement, the purpose behind this was to guarantee that funding distributed among agencies corresponded with their genuine necessities.
Limited resources exist in every country worldwide, and the key is to prioritize appropriately. It’s necessary for us to assess our progress thus far, evaluate agency performance against their mandates, and consider how vital those mandates are concerning this administration’s vision of a Renewed Hope Agenda.

He stated that many agencies are underfunded and offered two potential solutions: consolidation or elimination. It should be noted that he was not referring to State House agencies specifically. He emphasized the importance of conducting a needs assessment when creating budgets in 2025, rather than doing so without considering actual requirements.
Previously, the Chief of Staff made individual assurances to both heads and staff members of agencies under State House supervision that there would be an improvement in their welfare and working conditions.
He encouraged the personnel of said agencies to adopt innovation, excellence, and professionalism while aiding their top leaders in achieving success.
Emphasizing the significance of transparency in the procurement procedure is crucial for maintaining good governance and accountability, as highlighted by Gbajabiamila.
During his trip, Gbajabiamila paid a visit to several important government agencies including NALDA (Nigeria Agriculture and Land Development Agency), BPP (Bureau of Public Procurement), BPE (Bureau of Public Enterprises), NAEC (Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission) as well as NASENI(National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure).
Senator Ibrahim Hadeija, Deputy Chief of Staff; Olufunso Adebiyi, Permanent Secretary in the State House and Mrs Oyinade Nathan-Marsh, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Administration and Operations (Office of the Chief of Staff) accompanied him.
