Gaza War Tops Agenda in Meeting Between French and Jordanian Leaders

Published

on

World leaders are engaged in ongoing discussions regarding potential solutions to bring an end to the conflict in Gaza.

Recently, King Abdullah II of Jordan and Queen Rania visited France’s President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte to address this pressing issue.

The primary focus of their working visit was to explore ways to alleviate tensions in the region and find a resolution to the ongoing conflict. The United Nations Security Council has already endorsed a ceasefire plan proposed by the United States on June 10.

This three-phased plan aims to secure the release of remaining hostages in exchange for the freedom of numerous Palestinians currently imprisoned by Israel.

However, disagreements between Israel and Hamas regarding the implementation of this deal continue to persist.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed his reluctance to accept a comprehensive ceasefire agreement that would bring an end to the eight-month-long war in Gaza. Consequently, doubts have arisen regarding the feasibility of the U.S.-backed ceasefire proposal. Tragically, the Israeli military operation in Gaza has resulted in the loss of over 37,600 Palestinian lives, both men and women.
