At least 12 people have died in an Israeli airstrike on a hospital, according to the Gaza health ministry, which is operated by Hamas.

The Palestine Red Crescent reports that twenty-eight preterm babies who were evacuated from al-Shifa hospital yesterday are on route to the Rafah crossing so they can obtain medical care in Egypt.

Israeli tanks were observed approaching the scene following the purported strike at the Indonesian hospital in northern Gaza.

Israel claims to be attacking “terrorists” and “terrorist infrastructure” in the Gaza Strip, but it has not made any comments.

A “55m-long terror tunnel, 10m deep” was allegedly seen beneath another hospital, al-Shifa, according to footage that the Israeli military had previously shared.

It stated that the video “clearly proves that numerous buildings in the hospital’s complex are used by Hamas as cover for terrorist activities”

Both Hamas and the medical personnel at Gaza City’s main hospital have consistently refuted these accusations.

The deal-brokering nation of Qatar, meantime, claims that there are “very minor” barriers left in the way of the release of the Israeli hostages.

Since Israel started its war against Hamas, 13,000 Palestinians have died in Gaza, according to the health ministry operated by Hamas.

After Hamas militants breached the border on October 7 and killed 1,200 Israelis and kidnapped over 200 more, Israel launched an invasion on Gaza.
