Gateway Aviation Village in Iperu – Ilisan-Remo is being built by Ogun
The Ogun State Government is now clearing the ground for the construction of 200 dwelling units in Iperu, Ikenne Local Government.
The housing project, which will be built utilising direct labour, will have expandable bungalows with two bedrooms and is aimed at working- and middle-class customers.
According to Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing, the state’s action will complement its investment in the Gateway Agro-Cargo Airport by increasing the state’s housing stock, providing housing for the developing Remo Zone Economic Hub’s anticipated influx of workers, and increasing the housing stock in the state overall.
Each unit would be made available to the public at a price of N8.5 million for the carcass option and N15 million for fully finished flats, with mortgage choices provided by Gateway Mortgage Bank, according to Jagunmolu.
“The estate will be fully serviced with all basic amenities like good drains and well-compacted road network, security architecture, lighting and water reticulation, playground, health and educational facilities as well as a Fire Service Station to serve the emerging economic cluster,” he claimed.
5,000 craftspeople and more than 50 service providers (suppliers) will be on-site, he noted, boosting the local economy.
“Considering the multiplier effect of engaging 5,000 artisans,” Jagunmolu continued, “this will ensure the provision of means of livelihood to over 20,000 citizens.”
In six months, the project is supposed to be finished.
