Ganduje Vows to Replicate Edo Election Strategy in Upcoming Ondo and Anambra Polls
APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, has announced plans to implement the successful Edo election strategy in the upcoming Ondo and Anambra polls. Learn more about the party’s approach.
Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governor of Kano State, has shared that the party intends to replicate the successful strategy used in Edo State for the upcoming November 16 gubernatorial election in Ondo State. Ganduje highlighted the election of Senator Monday Okpebholo in Edo as a template for future victories.
During a celebration in Abuja with members involved in the Edo State election, Ganduje expressed confidence in winning Anambra State, currently governed by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and expanding the APC’s influence in the South East in future elections. He emphasized that a party as significant as the APC should have more control in the region, aiming to strengthen its presence as part of a broader national strategy.
Ganduje revealed ongoing efforts to devise strategies to win these states, mentioning the “political demarginalisation of South East geo-political zone” project. He noted that having control over just two states in the region is insufficient for the APC, and the party aims to increase its presence significantly.

In other developments, APC elders from the North Central, led by former Senate President Ameh Ebute, expressed optimism about the 2027 general election, viewing it as an easy win for the party. They visited the APC’s national secretariat in Abuja to congratulate Ganduje on his legal victory, where a suit challenging his chairmanship was dismissed. The suit, filed by the North Central APC Forum, had argued that Ganduje’s chairmanship violated the party’s constitution and the consensus reached at the 2022 National Convention.
Ebute expressed confidence in Ganduje’s ability to lead the party to greater heights, celebrating the addition of Edo to APC-controlled states and expressing full support for Ganduje’s leadership.
Similarly, Cesnabmilhilo Oken’oval, a former presidential aspirant and part of the delegation, voiced strong support for Ganduje’s leadership, predicting a decisive victory for the party in the 2027 elections.
Commenting on his court victory, Ganduje dismissed the claims as baseless and assured that the court appropriately handled the matter. He also pointed out that the success in the Edo election demonstrates the effectiveness of their efforts, acknowledging the challenge of unseating an incumbent government.
