During his address, Dr. Salim Hamza Ringim shared the importance of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund and urged students to familiarize themselves with its responsibilities and guiding conditions.
The Nigerian Education Loan Fund was characterized as an open-ended program, given that it remains accessible to students until they finish their education.
Ringim observed that the terms are easier and more flexible due to their simplicity, carefully considering the financial status of students.
According to him, under the income repayment plan, borrowers are obliged to pay 15 percent of their monthly earnings for a maximum period of 25 years. However, if they choose the standard repayment option, students must make fixed monthly payments over ten years.
The students were encouraged by Ringim to pursue the Education Loan Fund as a means of progressing in their careers.
The organizing secretary of the Kano State APC, Shafi’u Abdullahi, represented Chairman Abdullahi Abbas and encouraged students to accept the loan scheme as a means for advancing their education.
He encouraged them to endorse the party and principles of President Bola Tinubu.
It should be noted that the Nigerian Education Loan Fund has been recently signed into law by President Bola Tinubu. Under this new legislation, eligible Nigerian students can now apply for and obtain loans to finance their education.
