The former Senate spokesman Ajibola Basiru was also chosen by the party’s NEC to serve as National Secretary.
At the 12th NEC meeting of the party held in the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja today, the two party officials were chosen.
At the NEC meeting, party leaders in the National Assembly included President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, and others.
The APC has won the elections, and the Nigerian people must now receive the promises of good governance, the President told the party’s 12th NEC.
The 2023 elections, according to the President, would be the finest in Nigerian history.
Ex-President Muhammadu Buhari and ex-Vice President Yemi Osinbajo were clearly not present at the NEC meeting. But Bisi Akande, the party’s first national chairman, was in attendance.
The APC national caucus conference ended on Wednesday with the NEC meeting.
Two members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) resigned in the middle of July. The party’s National Chairman and National Secretary, Senators Abdullahi Adamu and Iyiola Omisore, both resigned.
