G5: Ortom asserts that the PDP is not sincere about reconciliation
On Thursday, Samuel Ortom, the governor of Benue State, alleged that the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party, which is led by Iyorchia Ayu, was not sincere in its efforts to reach an agreement with the governors who had been wronged.
He added that if the efforts at reconciliation fall short, the party leadership should be held accountable. He said that Ayu was not putting in place the right policies to meet the needs of the G5 governors.
In a Thursday interview with journalists, Ortom revealed this. According to The PUNCH, the G5 governors are Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Ikeazu Ikpeazu of Abia, Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, and Ortom of Abia.

Therefore, no attempts have been made by our party’s leadership to address the issues we have brought up. They have failed to implement strategies that will appease and assuage the G5. This is incorrect. So, that’s where we are on the G5.
“Arrogance, impunity, and mischief won’t actually help.” According to Ortom, one should expect humility because it is believed that in order to succeed, one must first bow down to conquer.
He said that the PDP’s leaders should have been proactive and humble about how they dealt with members’ complaints.
If you have proactive, humble leadership, there are various ways to succeed. However, when you treat people insensitively, they will refer to you as a child. How is a 62-year-old man still a child, I mean? How is a 50-year-old man still a kid? But none of us is younger than 40. We are all capable of being leaders. We were chosen by the people. You can’t simply create something of this nature while sitting in Abuja.

“We are devoted to matters of honesty, justice, equity, and fairness.”
He continued, “As far as my group is concerned, I think we are on course (G5).” We have already given enough time as devoted party members. And we are informed that the ineffective national leadership will use the chance we have given them to remedy those problems.
Even if you can’t fulfill everyone’s needs, there are still plenty of strategies to deal with problems. However, it becomes an issue when people choose to act conceitedly and arrogantly and act as if the other person does not exist and attempt to act with impunity, as if they have won the election and do not require any other person.
