Vice-President Kashim Shettima, along with former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, Governors, and National Security Adviser Malam Nuhu Ribadu, attended the funeral prayers of the late Ibrahim Lamorde, the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), who passed away on Sunday.
The funeral prayer took place at the Abuja National Mosque and was also attended by other dignitaries such as Govs. Babagana Zulum, Ahmadu Fintiri, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Sen. Ali Ndume, and Elder Statesman Umar Mutallab.
Lamorde, who was 61 years old and the third Executive Chairman of the EFCC, passed away in Egypt on Sunday morning after undergoing surgery.
Born in Mubi, Adamawa, he graduated from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria and joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1986, retiring as a Deputy Inspector-General. Lamorde has played a significant role in the establishment and operations of the EFCC since its inception in 2003.
