The Federal Ministry of Education has recently introduced a new scholarship program that aims to provide full tuition coverage for Nigerian students who wish to pursue their studies in Hong Kong.
This initiative, as stated by the Ministry’s official X handle, is specifically designed for individuals interested in the Bachelor of Education program. The Ministry strongly encourages all eligible Nigerian students to seize this remarkable opportunity.
The official announcement from the Government of Hong Kong invites qualified and interested Nigerians to apply for full-tuition scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year.
These scholarships are specifically for a four-year Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Early Childhood Education (ECE) program. In addition to the scholarships, the Ministry has also provided valuable information regarding the cost of living in Hong Kong for students. It highlights that expenses such as food, transportation, and leisure activities may range from HK$30,000 to HK$50,000 annually.
Moreover, affordable hostel accommodation is estimated to be around HK$6,000 per month (approximately USD 770). To further facilitate the application process, the college has waived the application fees for students who apply through the Consular General of Nigeria in Hong Kong. Interested and qualified candidates are encouraged to get in touch with the institution either via email at admissions@yccece.hk or by visiting their website at www.yccece.edu.hk.
The deadline for submitting applications is July 31, 2024. To be eligible for the program, applicants must hold an IB Diploma or GCE A-Level/iAL with a minimum Grade E in two subjects for the Bachelor of Education program, or one subject for the Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education (HDECE). Additionally, a Grade E in English Language at A/AS-Level or a Grade C in GCE-O-Level/GCSE/IGCSE is required.
