According to 2024 data from Cable.co.uk and We Are Social, shared by World of Statistics on X this past Sunday, the country ranks fifth worldwide in terms of average daily time spent online.
Based on the data, Nigerians typically spend 3 hours and 23 minutes daily on social media.
Kenya topped the list for social media usage, with individuals spending an average of 3 hours and 43 minutes per day.

South Africa comes next with 3 hours and 37 minutes, followed by Brazil at 3 hours and 34 minutes, and the Philippines at 3 hours and 33 minutes.

Other countries with significant social media usage are Colombia, where people spend an average of 3 hours and 22 minutes per day; Chile and Indonesia each at 3 hours and 11 minutes.
