Fubara said that the commissioners resigned from his cabinet because they were caught in the crossfire on Friday during his speech during the commissioners’ swearing-in ceremony at Government House, Port Harcourt.

All nine commissioners took their vows simultaneously, taking the oath of office after taking the pledge of allegiance.

Fubara congratulated the commissioners and asked them to act in the state’s best interests.

“I don’t believe I owe you anything. You are charged with upholding the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s Constitution, as you have already read. I implore you to act morally.

“I see how sorrowful your hearts are. It’s not my fault. Fubara stated, “You were caught in the crossfire.”

The initial reason for the commissioners’ resignation was the disagreement between Fubara and Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
