The Dangote fleet nationwide has been ordered by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to undergo an urgent reinspection and recertification.

On Thursday in Abuja, the Acting Corps Public Relations Officer, Mr. Olusegun Ogungbemide, conveyed a directive from Malam Shehu Mohammed, the Corps Marshal.

The pressing measure stems from a calamitous mishap that occurred on Wednesday along the Nyanya-Maraba highway involving a Dangote truck. The incident caused five deaths and inflicted injuries upon 14 individuals, prompting immediate action to be taken.

At 8:40 PM, an episode occurred that implicated a total of ten vehicles, among them the Dangote truck. According to the inquiry carried out regarding this incident, due to brakes malfunctioning and exceeding legally permitted speeds resulted in loss of control by the driver leading to multiple collisions with other automobiles.
