The entrance to Bluesail Drive, a posh lane just off the Pacific Coast Highway at the top of a hill with expansive views of the Pacific Ocean, was shut off on Saturday evening by yellow and black LAPD crime scene tape.

Journalists and LAPD cops were joined on the scene shortly after 7 p.m. by Perry’s mother Suzanne and her husband, broadcaster Keith Morrison, as numerous helicopters circled overhead. Morrison opted not to respond. At the site, an LAPD officer stated that he was unsure when any information would be available and that he did not have any.

Perry’s Bluesail Drive neighbour Peter, who wished to remain anonymous on Saturday night, claimed to have only spoken to the actor once for five minutes, during which time he described him as “very pleasant” and a “nice guy.”

As he awaited permission to enter from the LAPD, who had prohibited journalists from breaching the police cordon, Peter remarked, “It’s shocking.” “He seemed fine, and he’s been renovating this house for forever.” It’s quite depressing.
