Israel has launched new airstrikes on Beirut, escalating its military operations as part of its ongoing campaign against Hezbollah. The strikes come amid rising tensions in the region, with both sides engaged in a prolonged conflict.

The capital of Lebanon was shaken by another series of Israeli strikes. Explosions were reported on Friday in Dahiyeh, a suburb located in the southern part of the city.

In the second wave of strikes, two buildings were targeted in the Haret Hreik and Hadath areas.

In a social media warning, the IDF announced its intention to target “Hezbollah facilities and interests” but did not provide additional details.

As it intensifies its campaign against the Iran-backed Lebanese militant group, the Israeli army is striking deeper into Lebanon.

The conflict is severely impacting civilians. Over the past 13 months of clashes between Hezbollah and Israeli forces, more than 3,200 people in Lebanon have lost their lives, as reported by the country’s health ministry.

Many of these deaths occurred over the seven weeks following Israel’s initiation of an intense air campaign and ground invasion in the south.

Over 1.2 million people have been displaced from their homes, with hundreds of those residences being completely destroyed.

The total estimated damages to physical infrastructure amount to $3.4 billion.
