The State Government revealed that four female students at the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) in Ijagun, Ogun State, were sexually assaulted by thugs.
It is stated that early on Tuesday morning, the students’ dorms were broken into by thugs who had inappropriate sexual relations with the female students.
OBASANJO NEWS24 discovered that the hostel is situated in the Abapawa neighbourhood, which is not on the university campus.
The four victims were being treated at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, according to Ogun State’s deputy governor, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, who claimed to have seen them there.

Abayomi Arigbabu, the commissioner of education, science, and technology, and Alamutu Abiodun, the state commissioner of police, had hurried to the university with Salako-Oyedele.
The Deputy Governor called the situation “distressing and brutal” in a statement on her verified Facebook page.
She said, “His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun CON directed me to immediately visit the victims and the campus on a fact-finding mission and to pledge the Government’s support in ensuring this doesn’t happen again. This was after receiving the distressing news about armed robbery at some TASUED hostels and the brutal rape of four female students.
“At the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) at OSUTH, I have had the opportunity to visit the girls who are currently receiving the necessary care and support to recover from their trauma.”
She continued, “I also had a key discussion with the management and students of TASUED in company of Alamutu and Arigbabu to discuss specific actions to strengthen security measures and nurture a secure atmosphere on campus and in the surrounding host community.
She claimed CP Alamutu had assured her he would apprehend the criminals.
