Four people are confirmed dead following a serious auto-crash in Osun, with investigations ongoing into the cause.
Four people were reported dead following an accident on the Osun-Ondo expressway last Sunday, according to a statement by the Federal Road Safety Corps in Osun State.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Osogbo, Mr Taofeeq Sokumbi, the State Sector Commander revealed this information.
“The accident that claimed four lives happened near Joseph Ayo Babalola University as a result of the vehicles involved exceeding the speed limit,” stated Sokumbi.

He cautioned drivers about reckless driving that may result in the loss of lives and property.
He attributes the accident to the driver’s negligence, as they were aware of the potential danger caused by excessive speed.
According to him, the wounded individuals were transported to a hospital whose location was not revealed while the deceased bodies of the victims had been placed in a mortuary.
Sokumbi cautioned that any individual breaking the safety laws of the state while on the road would face consequences from the command with no reservations.
