Due to the absence of a party organisation in the state, Justice Mohammed Tukur declared that the PDP candidates in the state had been improperly nominated.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s four National Assembly members were not elected due to a lack of structure, according to the national and state houses of assembly elections petition tribunal located in Jos, the capital of Plateau State.
The PDP candidates in the state were invalidly nominated since there was no party structure in the state, according to Justice Mohammed Tukur’s unanimous decision of the three-member panel.
The lawmakers currently impacted by the ruling are Peter Gyendeng, who represents the Barkin-Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency, Musa Bagos, who represents the Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, Beni Lar, who represents the Langtang North/Langtang South Federal Constituency, and Napoleon Bali, who represents the Plateau South Senatorial District.
Fom Dalyop and Ajang Alfred Iliya of the Labour Party will benefit from the tribunal’s decision for the federal elections in Barkin-Ladi/Riyom and Jos South/Jos East, Vincent Bulus Venman of the APC for the federal elections in Langtang North/Langtang South, and Simon Lalong for the federal election in Plateau South.
The panel’s decision, which conflicts with a previous judgement from another panel on the national assembly elections petition tribunal, has angered the PDP in the state.
However, the solicitors for the petitioners and respondents disagreed with the PDP’s assessment of the panel’s decision on the petitions.
