Four AK-47 weapons are seized by police in Kano
During a stop-and-search operation along the Kano-Bauchi road in Kwanar Garko, Garko LGA, Kano State, the Safer Highway Patrol team discovered four AK-47 assault firearms.
SP Abdullahi Haruna, the police public relations officer for the Kano State Police Command, revealed this in a statement on Friday.
The crew stopped a commercial bus driver who was attempting to change lanes while one of the passengers descended holding a suspicious object, according to the statement. The driver was halted, and the guns were found.
The occupant dropped the object after the team’s quick response, then took off and fled the scene. A sack carrying four AK-47 firearms was discovered after a search, the official added.
While the command is stepping up its efforts to apprehend the evading suspects, it also urged locals to keep reporting incidents, suspicious people, movements, and objects to the closest police station.
Calls to any of the emergency lines for the command—08032419754, 08123821575, 0807609127, and 09029292926—were encouraged.
