Former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Prof Ali Ahmad, recently distributed cash palliatives to over 1000 less privileged residents of the state.

The distribution ceremony took place at his residence in Ilorin, Ahman Pategi GRA, where individuals from various political affiliations, including prominent members of the Kwara Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), women, youth, artisans, and community leaders, were beneficiaries of this gesture.
The cash amounts distributed to the recipients ranged from N50,000 to N200,000, with Prof. Ahmad emphasizing that his primary goal was to provide support to Muslims and party loyalists during the challenging fasting period.
He acknowledged the economic hardships faced by many due to hyperinflation rates and expressed his commitment to assisting those in need during these trying times.
In addition to the larger cash sums, 192 individuals from each of the 16 local government areas in the state received N5,000 each, while another ten individuals from Kwara Central senatorial district were also beneficiaries of this financial aid.
Prof. Ahmad took the opportunity to highlight the detrimental effects of hyperinflation and the overall poor state of the economy on the populace, leading to increased poverty levels across the country.
