Former Nasarawa commissioner, Abimiku, is dead

Dr. Bawa Ahmed Abimiku, the former health commissioner of Nasarawa State, has away.

A family source confirmed the news that Abimiku, also known by his traditional title, Durbin Eggon, passed suddenly early on Tuesday, December 19, at the Federal Medical Centre in Keffi following a lengthy illness.

He played a crucial role in the health sector while serving as a Commissioner and Member of the State Executive Council (SEC) under the late Alhaji (Dr.) Aliyu Akwe Doma’s administration.

According to Islamic tradition, Abimiku’s funeral would start at 2:00 pm on the Federal Capital Territory’s Abuja Central Mosque.
