Ismail Inah Hussein, a former federal legislator from the House of Representatives, has defected to Kogi State’s ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) from the PDP.
Hussein, who previously represented Kogi State’s Idah Federal Constituency, announced his defection on Friday during an APC-organized rally in Ajaka’s Igalamela-Odolu Local Government Area.
The former legislator, who joined the APC along with hundreds of his supporters, said he did so out of a desire to help Kogi State and the nation as a whole flourish.
He cited the Kogi State APC government’s efforts to advance the state’s overall development, security, and unity as the reason for his support of Usman Ododo for APC governor.
In order to ensure that the APC wins the November 11 governorship race by a wide margin, he vowed to dramatically mobilise support for his new party.
While congratulating the new members, Abdullahi Bello, the Kogi State APC Chairman, expressed confidence that the APC will win the upcoming election by a wide margin.
Former State Chairman of the APC Hadi Ametuo, Deputy Governorship Candidate Joel Oyibo, Zonal Chairman of the APC Muhammed Alfa, Member of the House of Representatives David Zacharias, Former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Sadiq Abubakar Ainoko, and others were among the dignitaries in attendance.
