The Akwa Ibom Police Command has announced the unexpected deaths of a former ExxonMobil contractor and a police officer at two different hotels in Eket.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent Timfon John, shared details with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), confirming these tragic events.
ASP John reported that the former ExxonMobil contractor passed away on Sunday at Villa Marina Hotels.
The man allegedly slipped in the bathroom and hit his head on the tiles, resulting in a fatal accident that has shocked those who knew him.
In another incident, a police officer from Lagos who was in Eket for an official assignment passed away at Tevoli Hotels on October 14. Initial reports indicate he succumbed to heart failure.
John stated, “The ex-ExxonMobil employee passed away at the hotel in Eket due to slipping and hitting his head on the tiles after exiting the bathroom.”
John mentioned that the required investigations have been finalized, and the contractor’s body has been released to his family for burial.
