Former deputy governor of Taraba asks opposition figures to back Kefas
Senator Haruna Manu, a former deputy governor of Taraba State, has asked representatives of opposing political parties to work with Governor Agbu Kefas to advance the state.
Manu delivered this statement on Tuesday while coordinating with the governor after his victory in the governorship election petition tribunal. It was made available to journalists in Jalingo.
Recall that the New Nigeria Peoples Party, or NNPP, candidate Sani Yahaya had petitioned the tribunal to challenge the governor’s election, and the petition had recently been dismissed.
In the statement, Manu especially urged the NNPP to team up with the governor to promote the state’s quick development.
He also advised the governor to unite all state officials, regardless of their political leanings, around his tribunal triumph for the benefit of the populace.
“The governor’s victory at the tribunal has affirmed the massive support he received from the people of Taraba State during the March 18th 2023 governorship election,” he continued.
Manu, the current senator for Taraba Central Senatorial District, thought that the governor had already begun to implement development projects in the state to deserve the trust and support he received from his people.
Additionally, the governor had extended an olive branch to the NNPP, pleading with it to work with him to advance the state.
