An ex-convict has been taken into custody by the Lagos State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS).

Yakub Yusuf, the suspect, was found hours after being let out of custody.

He had been found guilty of stealing at a government fuel dump in Alausa, Ikeja, and received a one-month sentence.

Yusuf, 23, was found guilty early in November but was offered the choice of paying a fine.

A non-governmental group helped him get released less than two weeks into his sentence by paying the fee.

After being set free, Yusuf was arrested once more for breaking into the Lagos State Fire Service building without permission.
