Ex-Army Chief Tukur Buratai has been awarded a new appointment, furthering his distinguished career in public service and national security.

Yusuf Buratai, a retired Lieutenant General who previously served as the Chief of Army Staff, was recently named Chairman for Fire Prevention Week and Expo. He has also been chosen to lead NIHA’s international flagship program in the United States.

This meeting is a fraction of the larger initiatives aimed at addressing the escalating incidence of fire incidents in Nigeria.

The Chairman of NIHA and the Proponents Council of Nigeria Fire Prevention Week, Dr. Kletsaint Akor, praised Buratai’s recent appointment as a “game-changer” in combating fire incidents.

Buratai, renowned for his illustrious military service, has committed to mobilizing backing from diverse interest groups in order to mitigate fire calamities within the nation.

The partnership between NIHA and the Federal Fire Service endeavors to reinforce fire safety protocols, improve response tactics, and raise public consciousness on preventing fires.

Persistent threats to public property and the Nigerian economy continue despite significant budget allocations aimed at preventing fire outbreaks.

NIHA voiced positivity towards a more efficient strategy in tackling fire hazards and enhancing the general fire safety conditions of Nigeria with Buratai at the helm.
