Agents of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun Corps, have arrested two secondary school kids who are accused of fabricating their own kidnapping in order to demand money from their mother.

The two female youths were found after spending three days in hiding in Oka-Akoko, the state’s Akoko South-West Local Council’s administrative centre.

The 13 and 15-year-old students, who are enrolled in JSS 3 and SSS 1 classes, admitted to the crime on Monday at the Amotekun Corps state headquarters in Akure, the state’s capital.

The children, who are siblings, said that they intended to carry out their plot in order to exact revenge on their mother, whom they accused of mistreating them.

The Commander of Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, commented on the situation and said that an investigation had been launched to ascertain the reason for the siblings’ actions.

Adeleye said that 28 other suspected criminals were apprehended throughout the state while speaking at the corps’ headquarters.

With the help of a joint patrol between his men, the military, and other security services, he claimed, the arrests might be made.
