The Houthis have made a firm declaration that they will not let the recent strikes conducted by the US and UK on their positions in Yemen go unanswered.
They have vowed to continue their attacks on ships in the Red Sea and maintain their support for Hamas in Gaza.
The military strikes, carried out overnight through air and sea, specifically targeted 16 Houthi positions, including command centers, munitions depots, and air defense systems, according to the US. President Biden has emphasized that these actions were taken to safeguard the uninterrupted flow of international commerce.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has described the strikes as a limited, necessary, and proportionate measure taken in self-defense.
While Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer supports the action, some opposition parties are calling for the recall of the British parliament to debate the matter. Additionally, Biden has acknowledged the support provided by the Netherlands, Australia, Canada, and Bahrain as part of the mission.
