Following the shootings in California, Biden calls for an assault-weapons ban

On Monday, a group of senators proposed legislation to ban assault rifles nationwide and raise the purchasing age for such guns to 21.

“We are aware that tougher action is needed to combat the plague of gun violence in America. In a statement, Vice President Joe Biden asked Congress to quickly ban assault weapons to protect the safety of American neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and families.
