The Zaria-Kano Federal Road was reopened on Saturday by highway tanker truckers.
According to Obasanjonews24, tanker truckers had blocked the Zaria–Kano highway in protest over the reported murder of one of their own.
But on Saturday morning, after talking with security staff for a long time, the protesting drivers agreed to let the route reopen.
Normalcy has since returned, according to Lawal Garba, the state acting sector commander for the Federal Road Safety Corps, who confirmed the event.
“I’m pleased to let you know that the Zaria-Kano Highway, which had been closed for several days, was reopened this morning about 9:30.
“The road is completely open, and traffic is flowing smoothly.” Traffic control is being handled by command personnel, he said.
