Following military airstrikes on militants in Zamfara, 213 bodies were found
As of Tuesday, more than 213 terrorists’ and their allies’ corpses had been found in Zamfara State.
This came after violent gunfights between Nigerian security forces and terrorists in a few localities.
Ten members of the military forces were killed, and some civilians were also slaughtered when bandits broke into their communities.
In the Malele village of the Dansadau Local Government Area, terrorists were the focus of the Operation Hadarin Daji raid.
The joint operation, which lasted until Monday, was launched by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and Nigerian Army ground forces.
Nigeria was informed by a defense intelligence source that security services had properly assembled troops for the assault.
“Bandits seeking refuge from NAF airstrikes retreated into a little village known as Mutunji.
The source said, “The soldiers on the ground shot the fleeing bandits as they tried to get away, and the NAF aircraft hit the exact area with a precision hit.”
Governor Bello Matawalle has shown his support for the troops and the families of people who were killed in the fighting.
