Midfielder Thomas Partey will get an MRI on Saturday to determine the severity of the rib injury he sustained in the 1-0 FA Cup loss to Manchester City on Friday night, according to Mikel Arteta, the head coach of Arsenal.
Partey began the match at the Etihad Stadium but left before the break.
After Nathan Ake scored the game’s only goal, Ghanaian international Albert Sambi Lokonga replaced him, and Pep Guardiola’s team went on to win the game.
In his post-game interview, Arteta stated, “He sensed something, and we did not want to take any risks, so he couldn’t continue.”
“He was experiencing some difficulty, and it was getting worse, so he had to stop. He didn’t feel confident enough to go on.
He continued, “Of course, he’ll have to get an MRI scan and see what he has tomorrow, the day after.”
